Déraison du quotidien

Jeanne Susplugas (solo show)

The exhibition “Déraison du quotidien” / “Everyday madness” presents the work of Jeanne Susplugas. The French artist uses various media and techniques to talk about the sickness of our daily life and the slight derailment of our reasoning, which we seek to seal by various means: drugs, OCDs and tics, obsessive behaviour – the various attitudes which bing the necessary support to the the daily life.
The works of Jeanne Susplugas appear as the flashes of a spirit seeking its balance, showing images with multiple meanings, in a tone which appears sometimes humorous, other times poetic.
Beyond the obvious aesthetic pleasing  staged in an almost disturbing way, the works appear as visual poems, obsessively repeated in different forms, sometimes breaking the too harmonious rhythm of the tale that the artist is willing to tell us.
